According to news reports, a man who was jailed in Langlade County for a hearing, has committed suicide.
Initial reports indicated that the man had attempted to take his life while in the jail. Officers responded and he was taken to Langlade Hospital, where he was then transported to Wausau Aspirus Hospital. He died 2 days later.
The man was set to be transferred back to state prison after the local hearing.
Sheriff Greening gave credit to the responding officers "heroic efforts" in keeping the man alive and getting him to the hospital.

Negligence.Preventable with adequate staff, which we do not have. Time for a new sheriff and a new chief . Please, before we go bankrupt from law suits because of our embarassing law enforcement personel. Shame on us!

Yes, his name is Edward Wolfe. This is definately a sad thing to find out. When it gets to the point that someone feels the need to take their own life it is heartbreaking. There could have been signs that were looked over or people just never payed attention. It could have been prevented I'm sure. My heart goes out to his family and friends. Any death is a bad thing.

I know this happened back in November already, but I can't get it out of my head. Edward meant so much to me and his family. Regardless of the situation, he was a person that had people that loved and cared about him. This entire thing is completely horrible. How do you deal with the loss of someone that meant so much to you? I wish I had the chance to say so much to him but now I'll never have that chance. So much happened so fast and before I knew it, he was gone. Grieving hasn't stopped since I found out about all of this. So many people are so ignorant and talk a load of crap without understanding who he was. It makes me ill. Nobody will understand what an amazing guy he was. I'm just glad I had the chance to even know him. RIP Edward Wolfe <3

This happened before here. I was in J block with a guy some years ago, and he was on huber working community service time off at the animal shelter. He left on day and nevercame back. I was later told he hung himself while at the shelter

I have only heard rumors about this guy. What was his story? Why was he in prison/jail. Who was he exactly? Was he from around here? etc.
