Bonds were set for many cases today in court, a few others were resolved.
Cristy L. Arndt of Lincoln Street, 35, had her bond amount lowered from $1000 cash down to $250 cash. She is charged with battery, criminal damage to property and substantial battery, intending bodily harm.
Matthew R. Becker of Elcho, 47, received a $1500 signature bond with a condition of no possession of firearms. He is charged with possessing a firearm as a felon.
Jacob McGhee of Fifth Avenue, 22, had half of his bond forfeited for failing to appear in court. He is charged with second degree sexual assault of a child.
Todd Allen Queen of Wabeno, 20, received a bond amount of $200 cash with condition of no possession of controlled substances. He is charged with possession of THC and drug paraphernalia.
Timothy M. Schulze of Washington Avenue, 28, had bond set at $200 cash. He entered a not guilty plea. He is charged with possession of THC (marijuana) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Alan E. Schumacher of Old 26 Road, 62, failed to appear in court for a charge of operating while revoked. A bench warrant was authorized for his arrest.
Edward J. Stainbrook of Pearson, 24, received a $2500 signature bond with conditions of no possession of controlled substances and no contact with victim for two cases where he is charged with having sex with a child age 16 or older and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Jacob T. Thorbahn of Weix Street, 18, received a bond of $250 cash for a charge of possessing an illegally obtained prescription. He entered a plea of not guilty and is set to return to court on February 24.
Peter C.E. Widucki of Laona, 19, posted $200 cash for charges of possession of THC (marijuana) and drug paraphernalia. Condition of bond include no possession of controlled substances. He is scheduled to return to court on March 3.
Casey Rebel Winters of Neva Road, 34, received a $500 signature bond with condition of no violent contact with the victim. She is charged with disorderly conduct. Her next court date is March 3.
Victor E. Zima Jr. of Highway 45, age 33, received one year probation for a disorderly conduct charge. He must also pay court costs, go through alcohol and drug assessment and follow through and attend anger management. An additional count of strangulation and suffocation was dismissed.
Last week Carla L. Kobin of Crandon was fined $443 for a disorderly conduct charge that was amended from an original charge of violating a harassment restraining order. She was also ordered to pay court costs.
Michael J. Peterson of Heights Drive, Bryant, had a court hearing scheduled last week, but no information is available. He was involved in the drug ring with the teachers but with cocaine. He is charged with two counts of possession with intent to deliver cocaine. A status conference is scheduled for March 24 at 3:30pm.

I understand the concept of innocent until proven guilty but it sure does seem like everyone who commits a crime walks away with a slap on the wrist. People who have jumped bail in the past get bail again or get their bail lowered. Break a restraining order get a fine then get it reduced. Get 22 charges of assault and only have to be held accountable for one. What does that tell the victim of these crimes? We will protect you but the offender is the one with all of the rights? We wonder why there are bullies in school. Maybe its because they know they won't be held truly accountable for their actions so why not just enjoy themselves.

Obviously Mike Peterson ran his mouth and they are waiting for things to pan out before he gets his punishment. Of course, we aren't hearing anything about him lately, thanks for adding it here.
