An intoxicated man who was upset about his electric getting shut off prompted law enforcement to intervene, wrestling the loaded weapon away from the man.
The incident happened in a home in northern Langlade County. A previous threat had been made by man against the utility company.
The man was taken to a nearby mental health facility.
In an unrelated case, a driver is wanted for eluding officers in a high speed chase. The car was a tan Chrysler Sebring. Speeds were recorded at 73 miles per hour on Highway 55. When law enforcement attempted to stop the driver, speeds were over 100 miles per hour. Menominee County officers were notified and asked to assist, since the driver crossed the county line.
