Antigo is a vast wasteland. My employer is begging, screaming for help, this is a skilled job...We are so desperate we would hire anyone off the street. This is not a minimum wage job, this is something that starts out around $12.50 an hour with an increase of $15.50 an hour after a year. Problem is we can't find anyone who can pass a drug test, or a background check.. My employer is thinking about packing up and moving somewhere else.. Leaving Langlade County.. quality workers are too difficult to find.

@ Stan Da Man.That pretty much narrows it down to the people so stupid they believe marijuanna is really bad for you.Glad you and your employer are happy.Yes, leave the county.Please.Funny thing. If people used salts there would be no epidemic of obesity. Billions of dollars of obesity epidemic money would be lost!

So your saying it is OK for someone high on Pot to be driving a school bus loaded with kids? Someone high on pot to be operating a crane? Someone operating a welding torch while high? Doesn't matter what you think.. Smoking weed is breaking the law, if your breaking the law, you are not a law abiding citizen, and therefore you won't be able to pass an employment background check.

Stan I think you are talking in circles. Nobody said driving a school bus loaded with kids while under the influence of anything is o.k. However if I smoke Cannabis and am a regular smoker the THC even when I am not "high" is in my system for up to 60 days. What we ARE saying is that it is o.k. to drive a school bus loaded with kids with THC in your system as long as you have not consumed Cannabis in the last 2 hours. If you are insinuating that those with THC in their system but who are not under the influence are still a risk to your bus full of kids. Well then I would say that you really aren't that intelligent enough to have researched the position unbiasedly yourself first and are what is wrong with this country. Or you have an agenda that you are trying to play albeit not too cleverly.

Sorry.. I am speaking for the 90% of employers out there who won't hire you with THC in your system. Smoking Pot is breaking the law. If you have no respect for the laws of this country, then employers view that you are not fit to be employed. If you bad credit you are not fit to be employed. That's the way it is with most employers now..

I know this will come as a total shock to you but Lawyers, Doctors, Police, and yes even factory workers who get a U.A. pre-employment screen smoke Cannabis. Normally I would agree with you on breaking the law. However in this case it has been proven time and again that the case for making it illegal in the first place was based entirely on lies by our government as they continue to this day. If you look to your government as the moral high ground then not sure what I can say except point our their outright hypocrisy. Cannabis is listed as a schedule 1 drug. To be listed as a schedule 1 drug it has to have NO medical value. Then answer me how can the same Federal government who claims it has authority to list it as such but that same Federal government was awarded a patent on the medical value of Cannabis? They rig the system to make money on both ends. Big pharma gets to hose you the consumer and the corrections system stays packed with non-criminals. Time to think our way out of this situation. Not just accept the blatant lies by big government. I'll pass on that thanks! Take care!
P.S. Please don't tell me that you think just because you U.A. at pre-employment that you don't have a whole host of pot smokers in your ranks. 7 out of every 10 people in this country have tried Cannabis. You would only be fooling yourself. I have passed every pre-employment screen I was ever subject to. They mean nothing. The ones failing are just lazy and don't want to work. It's not rocket science to pass one.

I believe that drug testing is a violation of our rights.
It is not illegal to ingest any drug, only to possess it.
