Blunt goes to jail, Noel gets $1,000 bond & more court activity

Alexander J. Blunt of Antigo is now behind bars after failing to show up to the jail previously. According to the news reports, Mr. Blunt had received a furlough for 10 days in order to find work so that he could be released on huber while sitting his stint in jail, but, instead he did now show up when he was to report. Langlade County filed charges against him for that reason. Instead, he was arrested in Sawyer County for some illegal behavior there and then he was back here on Monday, facing Judge Kawalski. The Judge ordered a $5,000 cash bond, but, even if posted, he will not be released since he had previously been ordered to serve time. Chelsey M. Noel of Birch Circle in Antigo, age 29, received a $1,000 cash bond for charges of Manufacturing or Delivery of marijuana and bail jumping. The news reports that sold a $60 bag of cannibas to an undercover informant in the parking lot of a business. The weight was approximately 3 grams. A status conference is scheduled for April 29. Robert Checks of Gresham, age 58, pleaded not guilty to charges of theft, bail jumping and obstructing an officer. Allegations in the theft stem from him using a tribal credit card to post bail in a pending court case. He received a $1,000 signature bond and has a return court date on May 6, 2013. A $100 cash bond was established for Katherine L. Calhoun, age 25, of Clermont Street, after she pleaded not guilty to possessing a controlled substance. The information suggests that she had medication without a valid prescription. Her next court date is April 8.
