Antigo man gets one year jail time

An Antigo man has reached a plea deal for multiple criminal cases in Langlade County court. Shane David Merchant of First Avenue, 38, had three cases open with charges of disorderly conduct, felony bail jumping, resisting or obstructing an officer and second degree recklessly endangering safety. The disorderly conduct case had been reopened since his probation was revoked. He was originally sentenced to one year of probation on that charge. He was now sentenced to 160 days in jail, which was already served. He was sentenced to three years probation for felony bail jumping. The charge of resisting or obstructing an officer was dismissed. The Judge imposed and stayed a four year state prison sentence for second degree recklessly endangering safety. He will serve one year of time in county jail and five years probation. All of the sentences run concurrent. He was also ordered to go through alcohol and drug assessment with follow through. He must not use alcohol or drugs.
