$25,000 bail for man cited in assault

An Antigo man is jailed today on a $25,000 cash bond awaiting prosecution on allegations he forced intercourse with an adult female this past weekend.

Efraine C. Perez, 41, of 707 Clermont St. stands accused in Langlade County Circuit Court with two counts, the most serious for second degree sexual assault — a crime which upon conviction carries a maximum prison term of 40 years, up to $100,000 in fines or both.

A misdemeanor charge of theft, involving a coat taken from a downtown tavern, is also pending.
