Official low here early today was 22 below zero

Antigo and Langlade County joined a broad area of the state and U.S. in suffering through bitterly low temperatures.

While the official low reading here was 22 below this morning in Antigo, residents reported thermometers reporting less and there was an online report that some living in the Gleason area had registered minus 31.

At noon in Antigo the reading was minus four with a wind chill of 20 below. Warnings continued to be raised over the dangers of the severe cold and wind.
