Gilbert, with ties to local grocers, opens Sentry Foods in Hortonville

Gilbert’s Sentry Foods opened today at 7 a.m. at 323 E. Main St. (Hwy. 15) in Hortonville.

The new $3 million, 20,000-square-foot store is actually a relocation, expansion and rebranding of the older, smaller Gilbert’s SuperValu Foods store on Nash Street. It’s the only full-line grocery store between Appleton and New London.

The move was done to gain visibility, meet customer needs and to own instead of rent.
