Pearson man sentenced to prison

A Pearson man has been sentenced to spend time in state prison for armed burglary with a dangerous weapon. Others appeared in court today and received fines and sentences.


Robert J. Vanschyndel, 26, entered a plea agreement, with a no contest plea for burglary with a dangerous weapon. The judge sentenced him to three years in prison with three years of extended supervision. There were three separate cases against him, with charges of burglary, possession of a firearm as a felon (dismissed), misdemeanor bail jumping (dismissed) and criminal damage to property. He received one year probation for the criminal damage charge. In a separate case, he was charged with and found guilty of possession of a controlled substance. He was fined $100 plus court costs for that offense. In the third case he was charged with resisting or obstructing an officer (dismissed), disorderly conduct as a repeater, which he received one year probation and fifteen days in jail for, criminal damage to property (dismissed) and misdemeanor bail jumping. All of the terms runs concurrent, so the total amount of time for probation is three years.


Amanda L. Howard of Graham Avenue, 27, received an amended bond amount from $3,000 cash to $350 cash for charges of disorderly conduct and three counts of misdemeanor bail jumping. Conditions of bond include no use of alcohol and no presence in taverns.


Derek J. Cline of Seventh Avenue, 19, entered a plea agreement and was found guilty of misappropriate ID info to obtain money. A second count of the same charge was dismissed, as was a burglary charge. He was sentenced to 45 days in jail and two years probation.


Carl D. Messer of Fifth Avenue, 45, was sentenced to one year probation with counseling and court costs for a charge of disorderly conduct.


Rebecca M. Torgerson of Sixth Avenue, 33, received five years probation for a charge of possession with intent to deliver cocaine as a second offense. She may also pay court costs and go through alcohol and drug assessment and follow through. Charges of possession with intent to deliver amphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia were dismissed.


Robyn K. Pruitt of Milwaukee, 32, was fined $50 plus court costs for an amended charge of obstructing. The original charge was interfering with custody beyond visitation.


Jose C. Aleman of Milwaukee, 33, was sentenced to sixty days in jail, fourteen months drivers license revocation, one year of having an ignition interlock device installed on his vehicle and a fine of $1440 for operating while intoxicated as a second offense.
