According to news reports, a few traffic stops and home visits in the Antigo area turned up marijuana, some non-injury accidents were reported & a fire was extinguished at Rack's.
A traffic stop on Friday near Sixth Avenue and Milton Street ended with two men going to jail on probation holds. The 30 year old driver had a suspended license. Both he and his 22 year old passenger are on probation. Officers searched the vehicle and found a pot pipe and a vial of marijuana in a woman's purse. The woman was contacted and admitted that the drugs were hers. She is expected to be cited for the offense.
In a separate incident, a woman was arrested at her house on Ninth Avenue for an outstanding warrant. She had marijuana in her possession. The warrant was for failing to pay a traffic fine.
A traffic stop on Highway 45 turned up small amounts of pot in the possession of two teens. The driver was ticketed for driving with a suspended license also.
Local law enforcement were called to a few traffic accidents in the area. No injuries were reported in either case.
James J. Langone of Wabeno was the driver in a single-car accident on Highway A west of Highway 55.
A farm truck driven by John Frisch of Antigo, entered a ditch and rolled over on Highway O, west of Highway S.
A picnic table that caught fire was put out by Rural Fire Control at the former Rack's Bar & Grill on Highway 45 and Mapleview Road on Friday evening. The fire had started due to a fire being left unattended in one of the pits near the table.
