A slight increase in valuations will translate into a lower tax rate for city of Antigo property owners.
Meeting as a committee of the whole Wednesday, the Antigo Common Council approved a 2014 budget that will result in a tax rate of $9.11 per $1,000 of assessed valuations, down 15 cents from 2013.
That means that the owner of a $100,000 home within city limits will pay $911 to fund local government operations, a decline of $15 from last year.
