According to news and court records, a young Antigo man received a one year jail sentence for his role in a burglary, which involved the theft of a van.
Matthew Newton, 18, will receive huber privileges during his stint. He is ordered to pay restitution of $1,043.
The sentence given will run concurrent with a nine month jail sentence that he received for an older case which had a deferred prosecution.
The news reports that the Newton and another person had taken a van from a home in Antigo and took it for a ride, then abandoned it when it became damaged.

Send a great message. Free room and board for a year with release priveleges. They need to start sending a message that this type of crime will not be tolerated. I bet the people who were victimized are just dancing for joy.

I don't give a crap what huber costs! They need to send a message to these pussheads that crime like this is not to be allowed. Sounds like you must know what it costs of huber, pothead. Obviously being let out to learn your lesson didn't sink in. Pot= illegal. Booze= legal. Not to hard to understand.

If your refering to me, I have posted over and over agin that if you keep your yap shut and fly under the radar, you'll most likely be OK. With that being said, don't whine if you get caught. Call cannabis what it is... Pot, reefer, gonga... but don't try to make it glamorous by naming it some exotic name that sounds like your mixing some kind of tea. It's illegal. Plain and simple.

It wasn't called by it's spanish name until the bigots who got it outlawed brought up their bigoted bs to push for the ban. So maybe instead of referring to something as an exotic name. I know it's called cannabis, but who, besides the courts and those who are trying to get it legalized, really call it that? Face it, your trying to make it seem like some tea or something to take away from what everyone calles pot, AKA dope. Again, it's illegal, so this is all a mute point.
