On a series of split votes, the Antigo school board began the process of replacing District Administrator Dr. Steven Smolek, who will retire effective June 30.
At a special meeting Tuesday, the board unanimously selected Director of Instruction Cindy Fischer to serve as acting administrator following Smolek’s departure.
