Trainer D. Wayne Lukas, Antigo native, deeply involved in the Derby

Hall of Fame trainer D. Wayne Lukas, a native of Antigo, is front and center on the Kentucky Derby trail, long after many handicappers had concluded his best days were past. Three-year-old colts trained by Lukas, 77, swept the two major Kentucky Derby preps this past week, early indications that the horses could be making a charge toward the first Saturday in May and the Run for the Roses.
