Removal of fire debris gets started

The cleanup of the rubble — and perhaps some treasures — from a March 20 blaze at the Peeps Pawn Shop located at 801 Fifth Ave., got started this morning. But unlike most demolition and cleanup projects, the crew from Krueger & Steinfest is carefully picking its way through the remains of the former pawn shop, where thousands of items ranging from musical instruments to guns were stored.
