St. Mary Catholic Church in Pickerel will celebrate its centennial on Sunday.
The church dates to the turn of the 20th century, founded by pioneer Pickerel and Pearson areas settlers who first celebrated Mass at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Monette in Pearson. It was later relocated to Highway 55 in Pickerel, a picturesque location just off the shores of Twin Lake.
