Shades of Irish green were everywhere in Pickerel Saturday afternoon for the 26th annual St. Patrick’s parade, and it has been for all of those years, it was quite an event.
The judging staff, comprised this year of Antigo Mayor Bill Brandt and attorneys Robert Kennedy of Crandon and John Rhode of Antigo, selected the last float in the long line of entries, Singing into Spring, as the best. It was brought to the parade by the Norwegian/Irish Folks Band.
The Pearson-Pickerel Lions Club, one of the traditional parade winners, was second with its colorful entry and there was a tie for third.
