The Public Service Commission has approved a plan to bring natural gas services to the rural areas surrounding the village of Aniwa in northern Shawano County.
Antigo’s City Gas Co. provided gas to the village of Aniwa several years ago and recently filed an application with the commission to continue its expansion into the town of Aniwa.
The service was popular in the village and soon the requests were coming in from those living outside the corporate limits. That sparked a request from George Bornemann, the utility’s executive vice-president.
