Late blight in state, advancing north

Late blight, a destructive fungal-like disease caused by Phytopthora infestans, has been found in Wisconsin and is heading north at a fast pace. Langlade County is now considered to be at high risk for an outbreak due to ideal local weather conditions and presence of the pathogen in close proximity. Full Story: Antigo Daily Journal
