Jail time, probation, fines ordered in court this week

According to news reports and court records, a number of cases concluded this week with the Judge passing out sentences. Dean Saternus of Pickerel, age 61, received a fine of $181.50 for a disorderly conduct ordinance violation, for an incident that occurred in July. Robert A. Turcotte of Seventh Avenue, age 49, received a sentence of one year probation and a fine of $100 for a second or subsequent offense of possession of marijuana and bail jumping. He had already served 30 days in jail as the case was pending. Matthew West-Walder of Schofield (formerly of Antigo), age 19, received a deferred judgment for one year for theft of a cellphone. Christina Maddix of Sixth Avenue, age 35, received a 30 day jail sentence, which was imposed but stayed and court costs for disorderly conduct and possession of a controlled substance. Ryan Becker of Pickerel, age 42, entered a not guilty plea for a charge of throwing or discharging bodily fluids at a public safety worker, disorderly conduct and obstructing an officer. His next court date is set for September 23. Mickeal R. Howard Jr. of Eighth Avenue, age 26, received a jail sentence for approximately one year for a variety of offenses. He was unable to complete probation successfully, which brought him back in front of the judge. A seven month jail term was ordered for a charge of a second or subsequent offense of possession of marijuana. Two years of probation was ordered for charges of manufacturing or deliver heroin. Forty five days in jail was ordered for felony bail jumping. 90 days in jail was ordered for criminal damage to property. An additional 45 days jail time was ordered for a charge of disorderly conduct. The approximation of jail time is due to time already served .
