A local heroin death dating to 2009 has returned to the forefront with the filing of felony charges against two individuals at whose Antigo home the 47-year old died.
Shane D. Merchant, 37, now of 1325 Third Ave. and Melissa L. Merchant, 30, of Wausau were both charged in Langlade County Circuit Court this week with a felony charge of being party to a crime of first degree reckless endangerment of safety. A conviction carries a maximum prison term of 12 1/2 years, up to $25,000 in fines or both.
