A spokesperson for the Department of Transportation said in a press release Thursday morning, the southbound lane of US 51/WIS 29 near Robin Lane in Rib Mountain is closed due to icy conditions.
The press release stated water is migrating underneath the concrete and rising up through the concrete joints, resulting in icy conditions on the pavement surface. The lane will remain closed until the temperatures rise enough to keep ice from forming or until crews can redirect the water to an existing, nearby drainage structure.
