Emergency weather sirens may fall to phones

The city of Antigo’s emergency weather sirens may fall victim to technology.

On Wednesday, the Antigo Common Council will act on a resolution that would eliminate the two sirens, a warning system for decades in the pre-Internet and cellphone age.

Aldermen will convene for the regular October session at 6 p.m. in the chambers at City Hall.
