Dangerously cold weather conditions across the northwoods shuttered schools, canceled special events, and sent people accustomed to a bit of winter chill indoors.
With temperatures diving to near 20 degrees below zero, and wind chills even more extreme this morning, classes were closed in Antigo, Elcho and White Lake schools and across large swaths of the state.
