Charges in bat incident are increased

The stakes have gotten substantially higher for an Antigo man accused of striking a teen in the head with a baseball bat in retribution for an unpaid drug debt.

Dylan Madderom, 18, of 235 Park St. now faces life in prison for the Aug. 25 beating after he was bound over for trial in Langlade County Circuit Court Monday on four felony charges — one for first degree attempted homicide.

The count replaces an earlier charge of reckless endangerment of safety. He is additionally accused of felony battery, physical abuse of a child and the delivery of marijuana.
