Biddell gets $25,000 cash bond in court for standoff

According to court documents and news reports, an Antigo man had a stand off with police and is now jailed with a $25,000 cash bond. Archie J. Biddell III was in court on Friday on charges of 1st degree reckless endangerment of safety, fail to comply with officer while taken into custody, operating a firearm while intoxicated on controlled substance and 2 counts of possession of a firearm by a felon. The incident occurred at a residence in the town of Polar on Thursday afternoon. Police were called with reports of a man shooting a rifle in his yard. There were 2 cars in the driveway with the windows shattered. Law enforcement surrounded the home and used a public address system calling Biddell out, but he did not respond. Eventually, officers called Biddell's telephone and he came out of the home and surrendered. He was intoxicated. Biddell had a large caliber rifle magazine in his pocket. Inside the home officers found a 12-gauge shotgun, a loaded AK-47 rifle, ammunition and drug paraphernalia. Biddell has a court hearing scheduled for Monday.
