Bank in Mattoon tells customers it is closing

By year’s end, the village of Mattoon will be without a local financial institution for the first time in over a century. The Pineries Bank, which bought the charter of the Mattoon State Bank in 1997, told customers this week that the branch office will be closing as of Friday, Nov. 29. Full Story: Antigo Daily Journal
