Antigonians asked to lock their car doors

In light of recent thefts from unlocked vehicles, the Antigo Police is asking residents to lock up their vehicles as a preventative measure. Removing valuable items will help in the prevention of thefts from cars. This week some thefts were reported from cars that were parked in garages. Near Mary Street and Fred Street purses were taken along with other personal items. A camera and a wedding ring set were also stolen. In the area of South Virginia Street and Ninth Avenue, the thieves took change out of vehicles. The Bass Lake area has also been a target of thefts recently. A wallet with credit cards and cash was taken from a vehicle on Bass Lake Road. On North Shore Road around 1:20am, a person saw a young man reaching into a parked vehicle in a driveway. He was scared away by an alarm. The person was described as a "younger husky male", about six feet tall, wearing a blue shirt and yellow baseball cap.
