Antigo man jailed after chase, drugs found

According to news reports today, a 19 year old Antigo man is in jail after drugs were found in his vehicle following a police chase. The chase went on for about 5 miles, including through the downtown area of antigo and ending in a cornfield in the Town of Rolling. Around 2:00am Saturday, law enforcment attempted to pull over an SUV near Hudson Street and 8th Avenue. The driver did not stop and instead proceeded through intersections without any regard for others. A collision did occur with another vehicle on Fifth Avenue, the driver of that car had minor injuries and did not ask for medical attention. She told police that she was hit hard and her car spun around. The driver of that car was Kate Baker. The SUV did receive some damage in that collision, but was able to keep going. Speeds were over 90mph when he left city limits. Eventually the SUV went off the road at Winter Road, where he was not able to make the curve. The driver was then taken into custody and there were indications that he was intoxicated. A search of the auto turned up an estimated 133 grams of marijuana, a pot pipe, digital scale, rolling papers and 2 Alprazolam pills.
