Aniwa man charged for causing injury while driving drunk

An Aniwa man is being charged with causing injury while under the influence of an intoxicant after an auto accident that happened in March. Edward B. Socha, age 23, also received charges of causing injury while driving with a prohibited blood alcohol concentration and felony bail jumping. He is accused of causing an accident south of Antigo on Highway 45 near Huggins Road where a man in another vehicle sustained injuries. Jeremy Powell of Antigo was transported by air to a medical facility for a hip injury from the accident. Reports indicate that Socha admitted that he was "driving drunk" to officials after he allegedly swung around a plow truck and hit Powell's vehicle nearly head-on. The accident occurred at 4:56am.
