Woman who eluded officers, other bath salt cases in court

A woman who eluded officers and drove through residential lawns and sidewalks received a $1,500 cash bond in court today. Tara M. Bailey, age 39 (which was misreported as 29 in previous post) of Fifth Avenue is charged with felony bail jumping, misdemeanor bail jumping, possess hazardous substance with the intent to abuse hazardous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting/failing to stop/fleeing. The Judge ordered a $1,500 cash bond for her. She did not initally stop when police attempted to pull her over, she drove through lawns and on sidewalks going a slow 15mpg or less. She finally stopped at a Fifth Avenue home and was taken into custody. In her possession, officers found intravenous needles and a plastic bag with unknown white powder. Another case involving bath salts is that of Cody J. Menting, age 21, of Wilson Road. He was pulled over on a motorcycle and did not have a valid license, he was in possession of marijuana, paraphernalia, all as repeat offenses. When the officer talked to Menting, he was highly active and vibrating with energy, which is typical for bath salt use. A Shawano County warrant was in place for him and upon taking him into custody, a glass pipe, known as "rose" was found, another indication of bath salt use. His bond was set at $2,500 cash. Robert Van Schyndel, 25, of Pickerel, received a $500 cash bond for disorderly conduct, obstructing an officer, criminal damage to property and bail jumping. He had trespassed and was causing damage in a vehicle on Elmhurst Road. After being chased away, he went to a neighboring house and told someone that he had crashed an ATV, but when police were going to be called, he ran off. Officers located him at a place on Highway 52 where he was acting strangely and seemed to be on drugs. He was wearing women's clothing. He had given a false name to the homeowner and didn't want her to open the door when police came. He told officers a few different stories and denied breaking into the vehicle that he allegedly caused damage to.
