Weekend Area Police Activity

On Friday afternoon, the Antigo Police Department responded to a woman's residence for a report of fraud. The woman stated she had given her credit card to another female to pay her cable bill. She did but then charged the card again for the next month's bill. The woman received her statement and said there were other charges on the card from another company that she did not authorize. The investigation continues.

Late Saturday morning, a Green Bay couple driving behind a truck reported the vehicle had gone into the ditch, become airborne, rolled twice before coming to rest on its top. The accident took place on Highway 55, south of Lily. The driver was hanging upside down from her seatbelt when EMS personnel arrived. The woman told authorities she had gotten a cramp in her leg, and lost control of the truck. She hit a culvert and flipped twice. She was not seriously injured.

Saturday evening a man called intoxicated and belligerent, wanting to report a theft complaint of medication. Dispatch staff says the man was swearing at them, was hard to understand and kept hanging up. 12 hours later he called again, still beligerent, demanding to know why nothing had been done about his complaint. He was told he could call an officer at 3:30, using the non-emergency line. The man apparently couldn't wait that long and showed up in person to the safety building two hours later. He again swore at front desk staff and called the police a joke...
