School board reorganizes at a busy meeting, even sets maintenance funds

The Antigo school board reorganized for the 2015 term Tuesday, and approved spending up to $120,000 in funds available from the current year’s budget on needed maintenance projects.

The board mixed its annual organizational business with its usual April session in a session that also included an interesting presentation by instructor Lila Gallenberg and freshman Bradley Westen on how the high school is using Chromebooks in the classroom. Last year, the district implemented a program to supply every freshman with a Chromebook, an initiative it will continue this fall.

“It’s been amazing this year,” Gallenberg said, explaining how she uses the equipment in her various English classrooms for assignments, journaling and homework review.
