In a race that went one candidate's way from the early reporting, John Rhode comfortably defeated his opponent, Langlade County District Attorney Ralph Uttke 3,966-1,235. There were three write in candidates as well.
Rhode trumpeted his experience with various aspects of the law including criminal, family, civil, and tax law. Rhode has 20 years of experience as an attorney with the Sommer, Olk, Schroeder & Payant law firm in Antigo. Rhode said the best qualities as a judge are fairness and the ability to listen.
