Religious Hospitallers continue Nursing Week hands blessing

The Religious Hospitallers of St. Joseph are continuing a time honored tradition during Nurses Week, traveling from department to department and blessing the hands of caregivers.

“We bless the hands of nurses and of all staff, as we all work with nursing,” Sister Dolores Demulling explained this morning. “Nurses are the heart of the hospital and clinic.”

Over 200 staff members, including physicians have taken part in the blessing so far this week, with their hands anointed in oil either from St. Joseph’s Shrine in Montreal or oil blessed in Israel, Demulling said.
