Despite a later spring that followed a horrific winter, the farm community is moving ahead optimistically.
“We have about four days left,” Peter Schroeder said as a four-man crew loaded his planter with seed potatoes in a field east of Antigo Tuesday afternoon. The planting teams are running a little behind the traditional May farm calendar, but Schroeder is confident.
