Man linked to thefts sentenced to prison

Jeffrey L. Jeter gave an affirmative response to a judge’s chance at a “do-over” Wednesday with an eye-toward bettering himself during a term of incarceration prior to a return to his home town.

“I love Antigo. I have a family here. I have a son here. I will take the opportunities prison gives me and come back to Antigo and be successful,” the 21-year-old said.

The words came just weeks after Jeter, who attorneys said suffered from an addiction to alcohol and drugs, was identified and arrested in connection with a series of thefts from unlocked vehicles and garages. Close to 100 different locations were hit during the spree with the actual number of thefts perhaps even higher in that some residences had more than one auto entered.
