Langlade Cty. court activity for week ending Oct. 18, 2013

Langlade County judge Fred Kawalski heard a few cases this week resulting in fines, probation & jail time for drugs, theft and more. James A. Jones of Sixth Avenue, 34, was ordered to serve 90 days in jail and two years of extended supervision for the burglary of Lakeside Market in August. He must pay restitution of $1,639.56 also. He had stolen 11 bottles of Tramadol hydrochloride (each bottle storing 1000 50mg pills), prescription testosterone and a bottle of Alprazolam. The items were on the loading dock when taken. Scott A. Drexler of Ackley Street, 26, received a sentence of 10 days in jail and one year of probation for a charge of resisting arrest. The incident occurred at Langlade Hospital emergency room. A second count of disorderly conduct was dismissed. Joel Kolb of Elk Mount, 22, was ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $1,931.75. He was placed on probation for two years. He pleaded no contest to two counts of theft as a repeat offender. Kiara A. Irizarry of Wausau, 22 (formerly of Antigo), was put on probation for one year for charges of obstructing an officer and being a party to a crime of theft. Sierra Blahnik of Bear Lake Road, 17, received a $100 fine plus costs for disorderly conduct, which occurred at school. Robert S. Frye, of Cross Plains, 50, received a two year probation term for charges of fourth degree sexual assault. The incident involved touching and inappropriate text messages with a teenage girl. Kerrie Podhora of Eagle River, 19, was placed on probation for one year for possession of marijuana and obtaining a prescription drug with fraud. She is also ordered to go through drug and alcohol assessment and follow through. The charges stemmed from a traffic stop where officers suspected drug use of bath salts. Timothy J. Hopkins of Graham Avenue, 26, received a fine of $200 plus costs for possession of drug paraphernalia. Walter Braenne of Wausau, 36, received a 30 day jail sentence and two years of probation for possession of marijuana as a second or subsequent offense and bail jumping. Zachary Moore of Third Ave, 21, was put on probation for one year for a battery charge. He also received a $50 fine plus costs for driving without a valid license (2nd offense in 3 years). Robyn K. Pruitt of Milwaukee, 32, received a $300 cash bond for interferring with custody beyond visitation, involving custody placement of her children. Kevin D. Harris of Sixth Avenue, 42, was released on a $1,000 signature bond on a charge of battery after fighting with his roommate.
