Highway 47 bridge project to begin

Motorists traveling through Phlox along Highway 47 will have to look for some alternate routes beginning Monday.

Work to replace the Highway 47 bridge over the Red River at Phlox and extend the box culvert over the West Branch of the Red River is scheduled to begin Monday.

Pheifer Brothers Construction is the prime contractor for the $1.2 million project. Additional improvements include installation of sidewalk on the north side of Highway 47, erosion control, and the construction of a retaining wall.
