Fund-raising soars to help family involved in Marathon County crash

A social media fund-raising site has collected over $122,000—and climbing—to assist the family of a man killed while driving his pregnant wife and children to the hospital.

Forty-two-year-old Michael Rogan was driving his wife, Niki, and their seven children to the hospital for the birth of the couple’s eighth child just after 4:30 a.m. Friday when a deer struck the family’s van in central Wisconsin.

Sheriff’s officials in Marathon County say a vehicle struck a deer on Highway 97 in the town of Cleveland and threw the animal into the windshield of the family’s van.
