Chamber reveals Mothers of the Year

Like mother, like son.

Thirty-five years after Karen Braatz penned a letter about her mother, Betty Koss, that won the annual Mother of the Year contest, her son, Alec, did the same for her.

Braatz was the winner in the Antigo/Langlade County Chamber of Commerce’s annual contest in the grades six to 12 category, joining Jessica Kalwitz, who won in the kindergarten through grade five division for a letter written by her daughter, Angelina Esparza.

Second place went to Wendy Nycz and daughter Autumn Shutte, grades six to 12; and Jennifer Navarro and daughter Kayleigh Parilek, grades kindergarten through five.
