AHS bands are going 'outside the box' for concert Sunday afternoon

Antigo High School musicians will be playing “outside the box” Sunday.

According to Director Jeff Dewey, the annual spring concert will feature a few twists.

“The theme of the concert is ‘Outside the Box’ and the symphonic and concert bands will be highlighting selections that call for some different techniques and approaches not commonly seen in more traditional arrangements,” Dewey said.

That includes using different instruments, such as wine glasses, and techniques, including dipping a gong in water to alter the sound.
