95 years after death, marker erected for Kolpack kin

Ninety-five years after his death, Alexius Johannes Emil Kolpack final resting place is being properly recognized.

Alexius, was just six days old when he died on Dec. 8, 1919 at his family’s home in the town of Almon, Shawano County. The son of Alex and Elsa (Riemer) Kolpack was buried in the Evergreen Cemetery, Kolpack Road, Town of Almon. Only his father was present.

On May 16, family members held a private ceremony and placed a grave stone at the site. A short sermon was read by his brother, Rueben Kolpack, followed by the singing of “Jesus Loves Me.’’
